High temperature Submersible Flat cables

COPTECH WIRE INDUSTRY (CWI) Makes the High temperature Submersible Flat cables with its state of art manufacturing plant located at Coimbatore, India. CWI manufacturing XLPE (Cross-linked Polyethylene) insulated and Heat resistant PVC sheathed 3 & 4 core flat cables in High temperature flat cable categories.

Conductor

Conductor are made from electrolytic grade with More than 100% conductivity and > 99.95% purity copper material. Copper rod is converted into fine wires and annealed for better flexibility the bunched together at uniform lay length to form circular shape and to meet required resistance as per standards.

Insulation

XLPE Insulation provided for High Temperature Flat cables,  special feature of XLPE insulation is that long molecular chains of polyethylene are cross linked to each other by means of a process similar to vulcanisation of rubber and thus forming a three dimensional network structure with strong bond.

Pure polyethylene is a thermoplastic material i.e. it becomes soft and plastic on heating and hard on cooling. Pure polyethylene is converted into thermosetting XLPE i.e. it sets permanently when heated, By cross linking process the polyethylene insulation of the cable is made thermally stable and also the melting point is greatly increased.

With the change in structure, the XLPE derives superior electrical properties, low dielectric loss .These cables have higher current rating and longer service life compared to normal PVC cables since its thermal resistivity is high and not thermally deformed like PVC

Under short circuit condition, this cable can withstand up to 250⁰C temperature compared to 160⁰C for normal PVC cables. It also has higher overloading capacity under emergency conditions.

Homogeneously extruded XLPE Insulation applied over conductor , wire properly cooled and passed through High voltage spark tester to ensure no puncture in cable due to foreign material / any other reason.

We can also assure you that Insulation resistance of PVC on Copper is around 1 x 10 13 mΩ/cm minimum and that of XLPE Flat cables is 1 x 10 14 mΩ/cm minimum

Sheath

Insulated core additionally protected with Heat resistant (HR) PVC material as sheath with uniformed thickness , which will more suitable to operate at tough atmospheric conditions and highly durable..

These cables have the better resistance to salinity of water in the ground, chemicals, oils , abrasion , weathering and corrosive fumes. These are free from fire risk and not prone to
failure due to ageing characteristics and have longer life.
